Not so sure I would have traded Trayce Thompson. But I guess that depends on what the OF situation looks like and how much Chicago needs a lesser Adam Dunn to round out their lineup.

I don't get all the Trayce Thompson love all of a sudden. Up until the last week of the season, he was just "oh, he's Klay Thompson's" brother". Now he's something special? He's got speed but no bat and he's not even an everyday player possibly. The Sox' pitching prospect is the prospect I'd question.

I'd like to know the entire story behind this LaRoche deal.

I'm going to put on my conspiracy theory hat.

The he wants his kid with the lockeroom all the time is a slight cover for a guy that simply can not hit anymore.

By doing this and making the White Sox (Kenny Williams) look bad, he will find a way to not have to give up the full $13M to retire. He'll reach a deal with the Sox or eventually file a grievance and recoup some of that money (maybe half).

Personally, I have no issue with what the Sox told him. I like kids, but don't want them around me at work all the time. It drives me nuts when I have certain coworkers that have their kids around a lot. Most professional places don't allow this, why should a baseball team?

Baseball is played April-October, to me April-May and Sept-Oct are school months, even if the kid is home schooled, those are periods of time when he should be learning math, science, literature etc. Not how big Chris Sale's cock and balls are.

Come on, man. Match, science, literature, etc. are for city folk. The kid will learn so much more at the clubhouse and doing his daddy's gun/hunting tv show...

Well, LaRoche made a statement and in it, he basically calls Williams a liar. According to him, there was an agreement in place before he even signed with Chicago to have his kid with him. And at some point Williams told him not to bring the kid anymore at all. Now, Williams is saying that Reinsdorf is the one who pulled the strings.

Also, Sale is coming out and calling Williams a liar.

You want your kid with the team 24/7, put up a better stat line than .203/.297/.340 & stop getting injured. $13M saved for some bad PR and a pissed off pitcher you could move on a team friendly deal and completely reload your shit farm system is a small price to pay to make some washed-up redneck and his redneck kid go away.
