It seems like they just resigned Heyward based on his stats from the past few seasons.
Markakis is older but cheaper. They expect Heyward to break the bank when the time comes.
Yanks land Didi Gregorious in a three way with the DBacks and Tigers.

Rays name Kevin Cash their new manager

Markakis is not healthy either.

I kinda like the Gregorious move. Get somebody young and cheap with some potential, but if it doesn't work out meh. But I'm still in the "Let this team burn to the ground for a couple years and then rebuild" camp for the Yankees, which I know is a small one, so yeah.
I think it was a great replacement for Jeter in terms of what was available. He has a ton of potential and I think in a deep(ish) lineup he will thrive. Plus not a bad glove.

Braves were aware when they signed him. His recovery time after neck surgery is 12 weeks. They expect him to be ready for opening day.
A's send Brandon Moss to the Indians for a prospect
White Sox trade for Jeff Samardzija & have signed David Robertson.

The Cubs and Giants are apparently the 2 finalists for the services of Jon Lester. He is expected to announce his new club some time today (Tuesday).
1. What are the A's doing?
2. The White Sox signed a closer for $46 million, I'm sure that will work out great.
3. Lester will sign with the Cubs, then go back to being 2012 Jon Lester, or sign with the Giants and will continue to be 2013 Jon Lester.
