The first trade has happened. The Mariners ship Brad Miller, Logan Morrison & Danny Farquhar to the Rays for Nathan Karns, C.J. Riefenhauser & Boog Powell.
David Price got $217 mil over 7 years from the Red Sox. Apparently Dombrowski learned nothing. Have fun with that in year 4+, Boston. And yes, I wanted to see Price with the Cubs.. but not for that long or that much money. For less than that the Cubs can add a SP, and OF and a utility man.
Jordan Zimmermann got a boatload from Detroit. Apparently, the Tigers learned nothing from Dombrowski.
Zack Greinke is choosing between the Dodgers & Giants and is expected to net more annually than Price. Sweet Jebus.

But the biggest WTF moment of the offseason came tonight when the DIAMONDBACKS agreed to pay Zack Greinke $206.5 million for 6 seasons. Yes, that's a whopping $34.41 mil per season. Then they wake up and realize they're the Diamondbacks, Greinke only goes once every five games and Goldschmidt, Pollock & Tomas don't get to bat 27 times a game.

Eh, I'm fine with Zimmermann for the length and money after seeing what Greinke and Price got. Zimmermann is a really solid pitcher. Maybe he doesn't peak as high as Greinke, but he's consistent. And anything is better than last year's rotation.
