No pictures but I own two boxers 1 girl an 1 boy. I've only owned boxers in my life to think of owing any other kind wouldn't set well with me.
My stepsister has a boxer, and now she is also in possession of my cat, who's a beast. lol Raven whoops that boxer's ass.
LOL doesn't surprise me really I've owned 4 in my life time and despite the name 'boxer' they really don't fit that as they're more friendly and are push overs to other animals. Their ears up may scare people off, but it's not often I see a mean boxer unless obviously it's been neglected or abused my some dumbass fool.
Milo is 1/2 boxer (his mum) and1/2 Australian red heeler. He has the personality of a boxer but the relentless drive and toughness of a heeler. People think he's a good looking dog but his appearance scares others.
Rocco has heartworms. He started his treatment today. Because of his size, he had to get two Immiticide shots. It's kind of disheartening to see him in such discomfort, even with the pain meds.

That sucks man. My 7 yr old boy dog has had beginner heartworms since he was a puppy, but we run him through an antibiotic cycle once a year and it keeps them at bay.
I've read up on heartworms and the treatment it's self is painful. That does suck and it's good you caught it in time rather than the consequences. Milo was a pound dog and got his preventative treatments when he was a pup. So, considering that Milo try to make snack of coyote shit if he can find it and he usually does on the trail, followed by drinking out some stagnant puddle, it's so far no infestations. I wouldn't know the symptons of most worms and it worries me.
Some worms you can see in a dogs poop so you kind of have to inspect from time to time but heartworms have to be tested for. Really heavy breathing is the main symptom because the worms effect the heart.

Were you getting him heartworm shots every season?

Apparently not, I'm not sure though as I haven't been his caretaker before he moved in.
