I'm sorry, I'm not buying the, "I want to hang out with family and friends and don't want to make 10's of millions of dollars" deal. Something happened.
Maybe he did something like Michael Jordan where it'd be super bad for the sport if the truth came out, so he just has to go away for a year and then he can come back like it's no big deal.
I think he didn't wanna stay where he was. This gets him out of that but give him the option to come back later.
